Lecturers dinner

Thursday the 13th the lecturers of the Informatics Institute had a kick-off meeting to discuss educational matters and didactics followed by a lovely dinner. The lecturers group consists of staff involved in the bachelors and masters of computer science, artificial intelligence and information studies. As is the case at most universities, and ours is no exception, the primary focus is on the quality of reserach output not on the quality of education. As a group we hope to convince our institute that excellent research has to be met by excellent education. To this end we are going to exchange best practices, what works didactically and what does not? We will held monthly meetings to discuss eucational issues and to explore how innovative approaches, such as peer reviewing, student wiki’s, video lectures on demand, can contribute to the education we provide.
